Scott Lowe has been in the Information Technology field for almost 20 years, starting out with desktop support. Along the way, he worked as an instructor, a technical trainer and Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), systems administrator, IT manager, systems engineer, consultant, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a small start-up, and practice lead for a national VAR’s VMware practice. Most recently, he worked as a forward-looking technologist for a large enterprise storage vendor based in the northeast US. Currently, he works as an engineering architect for VMware, focusing on network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN).

He currently has five published books on the market. The first, Mastering VMware vSphere 4, was published by Wiley/Sybex around VMworld 2009; the second, VMware vSphere 4 Administration Instant Reference, was published by Wiley/Sybex in December 2009. Jase McCarty and Matthew Johnson were his co-authors. He co-authored the third book, titled VMware vSphere Design, with Forbes Guthrie and Maish Saidel-Keesing, and it was published by Wiley/Sybex in March 2011. His next title, Mastering VMware vSphere 5, was published in October 2011. In March 2013, Forbes Guthrie and he released VMware vSphere Design, 2nd Edition, with updated content for vSphere 5.1 and vCloud Director. All five books are available from Amazon.com and other major booksellers.
