I’m pleased to say that my last gig of the year will be supporting Johnny Campbell. It will be a special gig as it will be at Toft House, Middlesbrough, and is technically my first gig ever in the area where I was born, Teesside. So it feels a little bit like a hometown gig, although I was born North rather than South of the River Tees. The other thing that makes this special is the number of musicians I follow who have played at the venue, and not least that Graham Miles and his wife volunteered at the sister Middlesbrough Little Theatre, where Graham Miles is a much-admired songwriter from Teesside, whose songs have been played by many musicians.

I saw Johnny live at Cafe9 in Sheffield, and then again at the Tees Pot Cafe, a Middleton-in-Teesdale – a location not stones throw away from the spectacular “High Force” waterfall which inspired my song of the same title on my upcoming EP – The Helm Winds.
