I’ve got a couple of gigs coming up to close out my musical year.

Oct 15th, Haarlem Artspace (Supporting JJ Lovegrove)
Nov 1st, Cafe9, Sheffield (Supporting Paul Arnfield)
Dec 12th, Queens Head, Belper – Contact Michael Jones (mjones572@hotmail.co.uk) to reserve a ticket or pay at the door, based on availability

I met JJ Lovegrove at a couple of listening-audience open mics in Nottingham this year. If you’re a player who likes people who listen to your set, I thoroughly recommend The Grove’s Luddite’s Folk Session event in Notts (the next is on 12 October). Anyway, JJ asked me to support her gig in Wirksworth, which is part of her album launch. That gig is on 15 October at Haarlem Shop, Wirksworth, and tickets are available now.

Her new record is called “History Is The Struggle Of Becoming”, and it takes the life and work of D.H. Lawrence

My second gig is supporting Paul Arnfield at Cafe9 on the 1st Nov. Tickets are on sale at WeGotTickets. I first heard Paul on the BBC2 Folk Show some years ago, and was blown away by his stellar songwriting – so I’m so, so pleased to have snagged the support slot – and of course, I’m happy to be back at Cafe9 after playing there 4 times last year. Please, please do come along to this gig because you are in for a treat – Paul is a rare gem indeed… the song that blew me away is the “Oak Tree”.

My last gig of the year is with my musical pal, Robyn Wallis Johnson at the Queen’s Head in Belper (Paul Arnfield has played there twice!) that’s on Dec 12th, Queen’s Head, Belper – Contact Michael Jones (mjones572@hotmail.co.uk) to reserve a ticket or pay at the door, based on availability
